The fact that Kron Gracie’s bout with Bryce Mitchell is going to be part of the UFC 310 pay-per-view card hasn’t sat well with some fans and pundits. But, it sounds like the outcry isn’t going to phase the renowned grappler.

While Gracie was a well-known figure in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu before he moved to MMA, and Mitchell has established a significant fanbase as well, some fans have questioned why former champions like Aljamain Sterling and Chris Weidman aren’t booked to be part of the main card. Both Sterling and Weidman are booked to fight Movsar Evoloev and Eryk Anders, respectively, on the prelims.

But, while talking to MMA Fighting recently, Gracie had this to say about critics of his fight’s main card placement.

“I think it’s funny because the people always have something to say,” Gracie said. “And it’s interesting that people who would complain about something like that are probably the people who are not even paying for the pay-per-view, they’re streaming it for free. You’re stealing the pay-per-view and they’re the ones complaining about where the fight is. If anything, [Sterling vs. Evloev is] a free fight for the fans that they get to watch sooner. I don’t see why it’s such a big deal obviously because I don’t really care about that kind of situation.

“But I think that the placement of the fight is kind of not the most important thing and I don’t care where I’m at on the card. The sooner, the better really. I get to go on with my life after that.”

The 36-year-old Gracie (5-2) hasn’t fought since May, 2023, when he dropped a one-sided, decision loss to Charles Jourdain.

Mitchell (16-2), who is 30, is coming off a vicious knockout loss to Josh Emmett in December, 2023.

UFC 310 will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and will feature flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja versus Kai Asakura in the main event.
