The UFC has announced that the promotion’s first pay-per-view event of 2025, will feature not one, but two title fights.

Recently, the promotion confirmed that the January 18th, UFC 311 card will see lightweight champion Islam Makhachev battle Arman Tsarukyan for a second time. In addition, the card will feature new bantamweight champ Merab Dvalishvili taking on the undefeated Umar Nurmagomedov.

Makhachev (26-1) fought Tsarukyan (22-3) back in 2019, and recorded a unanimous decision win. More recently, the renowned lightweight submitted Dustin Poirier in the fifth-round this past June.

Tsarukyan, meanwhile, is coming off a split decision win over Charles Oliveira in April.

Dvalishvili (18-4) secured the bantamweight title in September by working his way to a unanimous decision win over Sean O’Malley.

Nurmagomedov (18-0) last competed in August and defeated Cory Sandhagen by unanimous decision. The UFC 311 booking comes not long after Nurmagomedov initially reported that an arm injury would prevent him from competing in January.

UFC 311 is taking place at the new Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California.
