Magomed Ankalaev extended his undefeated run at UFC 313 by recording the biggest win of his career to date. The Russian light-heavyweight worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Brazilian star, Alex Pereira, who had defended the title three times prior to Saturday.

Ankalaev came out pressuring Pereira from the opening bell, and badly stunned the decorated fighter in round two with a punch. Pereira recovered and attempted to pick up his own pace, but Ankalaev countered with more takedown attempts and clinch work in the later rounds.

Ultimately, all three judges scored the competitive fight for Ankalaev, who hasn’t been defeated in 14 straight bouts.

In the co-headliner, Justin Gaethje outscored fellow lightweight contender Rafael Fiziev for the decision win, in an action-packed fight. Fiziev was stepping in for Dan Hooker on short notice, who recently withdrew due to a broken hand.

Fiziev and Gaethje fought in March, 2023, and the latter won that bout via majority decision.
