The UFC has announced the passing of Hall of Fame member and TUF 1 star, Stephan Bonnar.

Recently the promotion shared out the social post below, announcing the death of the 45-year-old Bonnar. No details regarding the cause of Bonnar’s passing have yet to be released.

Bonnar became a household name in the sport back in 2005, on account of his legendary fight with Forrest Griffin in the finals of TUF 1. Bonnar lost the bout via decision, which has widely been credited as one of the key, driving factors, in the growth of MMA during that decade.

Bonnar completed his MMA career with a record of 15-9 in 2014.

The UFC family is saddened by the passing of UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar. We send our sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
