(Updated) UFC Announces Return of “Rampage” Jackson
Bellator Says Light-Heavyweight Remains Under Contract
By FCF Staff
After winning three straight fights with Bellator, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is apparently returning to the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
The promotion announced the news during tonight’s UFC FN 58 broadcast, which included a video segment featuring comments from Jackson himself. No details regarding his next fight were disclosed.
Rumours of the signing surfaced earlier on Saturday, and according to reports, Bellator believes the light-heavyweight is still under contract with the promotion.
Jackson departed from the UFC last January, following a decision loss to Glover Teixeira, and proceeded to defeat Joey Beltran, Christian M’Pumbu, and “King Mo” Lawal with Bellator.
Update: Not long after the UFC announced the signing of Jackson, Bellator President Scott Coker tweeted:
Let us be clear that Quinton "Rampage" Jackson is under an exclusive contract with #BellatorMMA. We will protect our contractual rights
