UFC Columbus: Jairzinho Rozenstruik Believes He’s Faced Better Strikers Than Francis Ngannou
By FCF Staff
Jairzinho Rozenstruik concedes that facing Francis Ngannou is going to be a big challenge, but the experienced kickboxer says he’s fought better strikers in his career to date.
Rozenstruik is set to battle the heavy-handed heavyweight at UFC Columbus, which will take place on March 28th. The 31-year-old fighter has been tapped for the high-profile fight, after going 4-0 to date in the Octagon, which includes a late, come from behind win over Alistair Overeem in December.
Recently Rozenstruik spoke with MMA Junkie, and while discussing the striking of Ngannou, he said this:
“I fought a lot of strong guys before – big, scary guys – and I used to knock them out. This won’t be any different,” Rozenstruik said. “The only thing I know is that we’re working and we’re going to get the job done. That’s what we’re going in for.
“I don’t think he’s the best striker I’m going to face, but he is the biggest challenge. We believe we’re going to put him away. It’s a fight. It’s going to go back and forth – who lands first, who can take a shot, who cannot. We’re going to see March 28.”
Rozenstruik has gone 10-0 in professional MMA to date, and he also carries a 76-8-1 record in pro-kickboxing. Ngannou (14-3) is riding a three fight winning streak in which he’s finished all three opponents in the opening round.
