UFC Confirms Poirier-Brandao, Hall-Leben
By FCF Staff
The Ultimate Fighting Championship has added two more intriguing fights to the line-up of it’s upcoming December 28th card, as Dustin Poirier will fight Diego Brandao and Uriah Hall will square off with Chris Leben. UFC 168 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will also feature Chris Weidman-Anderson Silva II and Ronda Rousey-Miesha Tate II.
After devastating the opposition during TUF 17, Uriah Hall (7-4) is in need of a win, as the middleweight has lost by split decision to Kelvin Gastelum and John Howard in his first official UFC fights.
Leben (22-10) is also likely in a must win situation, as the punishing slugger has lost three straight fights now since he KO’d Wanderlei Silva in 2011.
Poirier (14-3) ensured he remained near the top of the featherweight ranks at UFC 164 last month, by working his way to a unanimous decision win over Erik Koch. Prior to the win “Diamond” dropped a UD loss to Cub Swanson in February.
Brandao (18-8) will be looking to extend his winning streak to four, as the TUF 14 winner has won three in a row since he lost by decision to Darren Elkins in May, 2012.
So, with these latest confirmations, the UFC 168 card now stands at 6 fights. Other scheduled bouts include Travis Browne vs. Josh Barnett and Michael Johnson vs. Gleison Tibau.
