Rose Namajunas took another step towards the women’s flyweight, title shot mix on Saturday, by recording an impressive win over Tracy Cortez.

The former strawweight champ outstruck Cortez on the feet and also took the flyweight down several times, en route to a unanimous decision win.

Namajunas was originally scheduled to fight Maycee Barber in the headliner of UFC Denver, but the latter withdrew due to medical issues.

Cortez (11-2) was riding an 11 fight winning streak heading into the event, and had previously never lost in the UFC.  Namajunas (13-6) has now won two straight since Manon Fiorot defeated her by decision in what was “Thug’s” flyweight debut.
