UFC FN 129: Tyron Woodley Delivers Warning to Kamaru Usman in Response to Contender
By FCF Staff
After Kamaru Usman defeated Demian Maia at UFC Fight Night 129, the welterweight reported o Tyron Woodley that he’s coming for his belt. But, the champ evidently wasn’t overly impressed with what he saw on Saturday, as Woodley delivered a warning of his own.
During a post-fight interview with FOX Sports 1, Usman told Woodley that he’s “coming for that gold strap”, prompting Woodley to say this on the broadcast (quote via MMA Fighting):
“You know what Kamaru Usman, congratulations, number one, never want to take the credit [away], Demian Maia’s a tough opponent,” Woodley said. “Me, as the champion, I’m always welcome to any challenger, just make it to that point, I’ll be on the other side of the Octagon.
“I did see a couple of things if you do against me you might end up waking up with the smelling salts. But hey, hats off to you, great job.”
Woodley hasn’t fought since last July, when he earned a decision win over Maia.
