As most people expected would be the case, welterweight contenders Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann engaged in another memorable battle tonight at UFC Fight Night 27, and earned “Fight of the Night” honors.

Condit battled through several takedowns from Kampmann early on and came back to stop the welterweight in the fourth round. The two also fought in 2009, however, Kampmann emerged with the split decision win.

Both men earned an extra 50K for receiving “FOTN”.

“Knockout of the Night” went to UFC newcomer Brandon Thatch, who stormed through Justin Edwards and put the welterweight away with strikes in under 90 seconds.

“Submission of the Night”, and an extra $50,000 went to Zak Cummings, who caught Ben Alloway with a nicely executed D’Arce choke for the first round win.

UFC FN 27 was hosted by the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
