UFC FN 56: Fabio Maldonado Accepts “OSP’s” Challenge
By FCF Staff
Following Ovince St. Preux’s stunning victory over “Shogun” Rua at UFC Fight Night 56, the light-heavyweight mentioned Fabio Maldonado as a fighter he’d like to face next. While the latter was evidently surprised by the call out, he’s up for facing St. Preux nonetheless.
St. Preux relayed that he has a lot of respect for Maldonado after the card, and noted the light-heavyweight is one of the names on his opponent’s “list.”
When Maldonado heard about “OSP’s” comments, the Brazilian fighter tweeted:
I never ran from a challenge. I thought you'd ask for someone better ranked than me. Challenge accepted @003_OSP @ufc pic.twitter.com/VxSFUienAQ

Maldonado is coming off a second round, stoppage win over Hans Stringer and is currently ranked #14 in the light-heavyweight division.
St. Preux is positioned at #10, but is likely to move up, now that he has KO’d Rua.
