UFC FN 63: Chad Mendes Takes Out Ricardo Lamas
By FCF Staff
Chad Mendes remains the UFC’s #1 ranked, featherweight contender, as the powerful wrestler took out Ricardo Lamas in the opening round at UFC Fight Night 63.
Lamas was able to keep Mendes at bay early on with a steady stream of kicks and punches, but the latter landed a booming right hand a couple of minutes in. Lamas valiantly attempted to recover, but a series of follow up punches from Mendes brought about the stoppage.
In the co-main event, Al Iaquinta was awarded a split decision victory over Jorge Masvidal, which many fans in attendance didn’t agree with. In his post-fight interview, Iaquinta proceeded to tell the crowd off, after noting how hard he had battled Masvidal.
