UFC FN 67: Carlos Condit Prompts Doctor’s Intervention After Battering Thiago Alves
By FCF Staff
Carlos Condit’s return to the Octagon was a triumphant one tonight at UFC Fight Night 67, as the welterweight stopped fellow contender Thiago Alves in the card’s main event.
As most observers expected would be the case, Alves and Condit stayed busy in the opening round, as both men fired plenty of kicks and punches. In round two, however, Condit floored Alves with a standing elbow, and proceeded to batter the veteran with strikes from above.
A bloodied Alves valiantly fought on, but after the round concluded, the cageside physician elected to stop the bout. The nose of Alves was badly broken and Condit was awarded the TKO win.
