UFC FN 69: Alexander Gustafsson Withdraws, Joanna Jedrzejczyk-Jessica Penne New Headliner
By FCF Staff
The UFC has been forced to do more line-up shifting, as the promotion has announced that Alexander Gustafsson has withdrawn from his June 20th bout with Glover Teixeira. The light-heavyweight fight was supposed to headline UFC FN 69, which will be hosted by Berlin, Germany.
According to the official announcement, there is no word on the nature of Gustafsson’s injury or when he’ll be ready to return.
As a result of the Swedish fighter’s withdrawal, strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk will take on Jessica Penne in the card’s new main event.
Jedrzejczyk (9-0) laid claim to the title back in March by taking out Carla Esparza with strikes in the second round. The Polish fighter and noted striker has gone 3-0 in the UFC to date.
Penne (12-2), who was scheduled to fight Juliana De Lima Carneiro on May 30th, is coming off a split decision win over Randa Markos in December. The American is a former Invicta FC atomweight champ.
UFC FN 69 will be hosted by Berlin’s 02 World arena.
