UFC FN 84: Anderson Silva Outlines Timeline For Retirement
By FCF Staff
Anderson Silva maybe turning 41 in April, but the legendary fighter apparently isn’t thinking about hanging up the gloves any time soon.
The Brazilian star is scheduled to fight Michael Bisping at UFC Fight Night 84 on February 27th, which will mark the first time he’s fought since last January. Silva was recently on hand at an open workout to promote the card, and when asked about his future, “The Spider”stated this (quote via UFC.com):
“When I go to fight and we’re back together again everybody in the family says, ‘Dad, come on. Stop. Hello.’ I think three more years,” Silva said.
“I sat down with my family and explained to them that as long as I’m physically good and happy doing it, I’ll continue to fight,” the former middleweight champ added.
Due to a broken leg Silva incurred during his rematch with Chris Weidman, and because of the year long suspension he received for a positive test for PEDs, the fighter has fought just once since 2013.
