UFC FN 93: Andrei Arlovski Plans to Take Some Time Off, “Come Back Stronger” After Latest Defeat
By FCF Staff
Following Andrei Arlovski’s loss to Josh Barnett at UFC Fight Night 93, which was his third straight defeat, the former heavyweight champ has no intention of hanging up the gloves.
Arlovski was submitted by Barnett with a third round, rear-naked-choke. The defeat followed consecutive losses for Arlovski to Alistair Overeem and Stipe Miocic. After the bout the 37 year-old fighter reported the following (quote via MMA Fighting.com):
“He was better man tonight,” Arlovski said. “Now I’m going to take some time off and come back stronger. At least he didn’t knock me out. He choked me and he has great wrestling skills.
“…Good luck to him in the future. I’m still top 10. So, it’s totally up to my managers what’s next for me and totally up to the UFC.”
Prior to Arlovski’s recent losses, the Jackson-Wink MMA fighter had won six in a row.
