UFC FN 96: John Dodson Disagrees With Decision, “I Did The Whole Carlos Condit – Robbie Lawler Thing…”
By FCF Staff
John Dodson was handed a split decision loss by the judges at UFC Fight Night 96 last night, but the bantamweight, not surprisingly, disagrees with their scoring.
Dodson faced John Lineker in the main event, and the bout largely featured the latter moving forward, while Dodson looked to counter strike. Afterwards, scores of 48-47 were announced across the board, but two of those scores were handed to Lineker.
When asked to comment on the decision, here is some of what Dodson had to say (quote via MMA Junkie.com):
“I still look handsome as hell,” Dodson said. “He came out looking like Frankenstein, so I don’t know what’s up.”
“I did the whole Carlos Condit-Robbie Lawler thing, and sure enough, they gave it to Robbie Lawler again.”
According to Fight Metric, Dodson landed 52% of his significant strikes, while Lineker only scored at a 28% clip. Dodson was 0 for 6 on takedowns.
UFC FN 96 took place in Portland, Oregon.
