Nassourdine Imavov added a 14th victory to his resume at UFC Louisville on Saturday night. But, the win didn’t come without controversy.

Imavov faced fellow middleweight contender Jared Cannonier in the main event,  in what was a competitive fight through the opening three rounds. In round four, Imavov stunned Cannonier badly with several hard shots, but the veteran didn’t hit the floor. As Imavov pursued the finish along the Octagon fence, referee Jason Herzog intervened and stopped the fight.

Cannonier, who appeared to be still defending himself, protested the stoppage as did many in the crowd.

In the co-headliner, former light heavyweight title challenger Dominick Reyes returned to the win column with a highlight reel finish of Dustin Jacoby. Reyes wobbled Jacoby with a stinging punch in the opening frame and then finished the deal with a follow-up knee and more strikes.
