UFC on FOX 11: Thiago Alves to Make Return Versus Seth Baczynski
By FCF Staff
UFC on FOX 11 has received another compelling match-up, as the promotion has announced that former welterweight contender Thiago Alves has agreed to battle Seth Baczynski. The April 19th fight will mark the first time Alves has competed since March, 2012, when he was submitted by Martin Kampmann.
Alves (19-9), who has battled a rash of injuries the last two years, tapped out Papy Abedi at UFC 138 before facing Kampmann. The 30 year-old fighter has gone 2-3 since he was decisioned by former champ Georges St. Pierre in 2009.
Baczynski (19-10) recently ended a two fight losing skid, as the 32 year-old worked his way to a decision win over Neil Magny at UFC FN 31 in November. The TUF vet was coming off stoppage losses to Mike Pierce and Brian Melancon.
UFC on FOX 11 will be hosted by Orlando’s Amway Center and will feature Travis Browne taking on fellow heavyweight contender Fabricio Werdum in the main event.
