UFC on FOX 15: Luke Rockhold Takes Out Lyoto Machida
By FCF Staff
Luke Rockhold’s path to a title shot remains on track, as the middleweight took out fellow contender Lyoto Machida in impressive fashion at UFC on FOX 15.
Early on, Machida threatened Rockhold with big punches, but after the action spilled to the mat, the latter punished the former light-heavyweight champ with strikes. As round one ended, Machida was clearly shaken, and as he came out for round two he clearly was still wobbly.
Not long into the second frame, Machida stumbled to the mat, and soon after, Rockhold forced him to tap out with a rear-naked-choke.
After the bout, Rockhold called for a fight with champion Chris Weidman–in Madison Square Garden–next. Weidman is set to fight Vitor Belfort on May 23rd.
