UFC on FOX 15: Lyoto Machida’s Brother Believes “The Dragon” Could Fight For Another “Four or Five Years”
By FCF Staff
The renowned Lyoto Machida is set to turn 37 next month, but according to his brother Chinzo, “The Dragon” could still be fighting in his forties.
Machida is set to fight fellow middleweight contender Luke Rockhold tonight at UFC on FOX 15, and if he wins, another crack at the title could be around the corner. That alone is a testament to the abilities and work ethic of Machida, who made his Octagon debut back in 2007, and since then, the former light-heavyweight champ has remained a fixture in the title shot mix.
Well, recently Chinzo spoke with UFC.com about his younger brother, and while doing so, he stated:
“Because of the way he fights and the style he fights, Lyoto doesn’t take much damage,” Chinzo Machida said. “He’s a very technical fighter, so if he keeps fighting that way, he can fight another four or five years.”
Machida (22-5) is coming off a quick, stoppage win over CB Dolloway in December, after he was decisioned by champion Chris Weidman last July.
UFC on FOX 15 will be hosted by the Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey.
