UFC on FOX 17: Donald Cerrone Repeats “I’m Not in it For The Belt”
By FCF Staff
Donald Cerrone has worked his way into a title fight with lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos, but “Cowboy” insists winning the fight, rather than the belt, is what matters most to him.
Cerrone will face dos Anjos on December 19th at UFC on FOX 17, as a result of an eight figh winning streak he’s put together, since they fought in 2013. Dos Anjos won that bout via unanimous decision.
Recently Cerrone spoke with the Orlando Sentinel, and when asked what winning the belt would mean to him, he stated:
“…I’m not in it for the belt. I don’t give a sh– at all. It means more money; it means better pay for me, so, and it also means that you’re able to say you’re the best in the world at something. So that’s cool. The actual belt, I don’t care…”
Cerrone went on to say that he wants to build a legacy that includes being a fan favorite and a respected person.
UFC on FOX 17 will be hosted by Orlando’s Amway Center.
