The December 14th, UFC on FOX 9 card is likely completed, as the promotion has announced that rugged vet Pat Healy will fight former WEC champ Jamie Varner at the event. The lightweight bout is the 12th to booked for the Sacramento bound card.

Healy (29-17) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to rising lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 165 last month, after submitting Jim Miller at UFC 159 this past April. Since Healy tested positive for marijuana following the fight, however, it was declared a no contest.

Varner (21-8-1) is also coming off a loss, as he dropped a split decision to Gleison Tibau at UFC 164 in August. Prior to that, “C-4” scored a split decision win over Melvin Guillard at UFC 155 last December.

UFC on FOX 9 will be hosted by the Sleep Train Arena, and will see lightweight champion Anthony Pettis battle Josh Thomson in the main event.
