UFC Rankings Update: Edson Barboza Leaps up Lightweight Rankings

After working his way to a unanimous decision win over fellow lightweight contender, Bobby Green, at UFC FN 57, Edson Barboza has leaped up the promotion’s rankings into the top ten.
As a result of Saturday’s win, Barboza has moved up five spots and is now ranked #6. Green, who hadn’t lost in 8 fights heading into UFC FN 57, dropped to #9.
Another fighter who benefited from his performance on November 22nd was featherweight Frankie Edgar, who tapped out Cub Swanson in the fifth round and has moved into #2 ranking as a result. Swanson, who was ranked #2, slipped two spots to #4.
Ricardo Lamas, who tapped out Dennis Bermudez at UFC 180, also moved up a position and is now the promotion’s #3 ranked featherweight.
The UFC rankings are determined by a panel of media members following each event.
