UFC Saudi Arabia Results: Nassourdine Imavov Takes Out Israel Adesanya
By FCF Staff
Many believed UFC Saudi Arabia could serve as a launching point for Israel Adesanya’s path back to a title shot. But, rising middleweight contender, Nassourdine Imavov, ensured that wouldn’t be the case.
After an opening round that featured consistent action, and Adesanya defending several takedown attempts, Imavov put the star down in round two with a right hook. Imavov proceeded to land a solid left, and as he followed up with more punches from above the bout was stopped.
Initially, Adesanya appeared to protest the stoppage. But, Imavov will return to France having recorded the biggest win of his career to date. Following the bout, the middleweight called for a title shot.
With the win, Imavov moved his overall record to 16-4, while Adesanya’s record fell to 24-5. “The Last Stylebender” has lost three straight.
