Alex Perez demonstrated Saturday that his days as a flyweight contender are certainly not over, by knocking out Matheus Nicolau in highlight reel fashion.

After a competitive opening frame, Perez caught Nicolau with a booming right in round two, which instantly ended the card’s main event.

Heading into the bout, Perez (25-8) had dropped three straight, albeit, against noted competition in Alexandre Pantoja, Muhammad Mokaev and Deiveson Figueiredo.

With the defeat, Nicolau’s record fell to 19-4-1.
