UFC Vet John Alessio Blasts Promotion’s Reebok Uniform Deal
By FCF Staff
Although several UFC fighters have already relayed they’re excited about the promotion’s new uniform deal with Reebook, veteran John Alessio clearly believes the agreement’s bad for the sport.
On Tuesday, the UFC announced it has signed a uniform deal with Reebok, which will pay fighters sponsorship money as well as 20% of sales revenue. The agreement, however, also prohibits UFC fighters from wearing other sponsorship materials during fight week.
Following the announcement, the 50 fight plus vet Alessio tweeted the following comments:
RIP fighter sponsorships #UFC

I just don't think the uniform is the way to go, another way to kill small businesses and big business to take over

Alessio last competed for the UFC in 2012, and more recently, he earned a decision win over Eric Wisely at Bellator 119 in May, 2014.
