World Series of Fighting has announced that a welterweight fight between Jake Shields and Brian Foster will headline the promotion’s January 17th event in Las Vegas.

WSOF 17 will be hosted by the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and the main card will be broadcast on the NBC Sports Network.

Shields (30-7-1) will be looking to build on the first round, submission win he scored over Ryan Ford in October. The bout marked the first time Shields had fought since March, when he was decisioned by Hector Lombard and subsequently released by the UFC.

Foster (22-6) is riding a four fight, winning streak, and most recently the UFC vet decisioned Gilbert Smith at a Titan FC card in May.
