Yannick Bahati Set To Defend Title At BAMMA London
By Press Release
[London 12.07.17] The SSE Arena, Wembley is ready to rumble with the biggest fighting event in London this September as BAMMA returns to the nation’s capital. BAMMA today adds two more matchups to the fight card including a Middleweight title defence.
“From Tom Watson to Yannick Bahati, the Middleweight title has always had a best of the best under its wing. This will be no different. Yannick will be entering into the lions den as he defends the title in Shipmans backyard. A very bold statement indeed” – Jude Samuel BAMMA Matchmaker

Yannick ‘Black Mamba’ Bahati Vs Mike ‘Sea Bass’ Shipman (BAMMA World Middleweight Title)
In a ferocious Middleweight match up, champion Yannick Bahati makes his first title defence against an incredibly tough opponent in the shape of Mike ‘Seabass’ Shipman. The challenger is undefeated since his debut, with his last two wins coming on the London Bellator events. However, the ever confident Champion Bahati will be undeterred by the Challengers credentials as he continues on his own path to cementing his name as the best Middleweight in the division.
“I come to entertain the fans and put another bum away early at Wembley London and segmenting my name in the history book of UK MMA”. – Yannick ‘Black Mamba’ Bahati BAMMA World Middelweight Champion
“I’m excited to become BAMMA champion, it’s a well respected title and will attract the type of challengers I need to progress me as a fighter. I’m also excited to fight Yannick, he has a good record and some attributes but I am a very bad match for him.” – Mike ‘Sea Bass’ Shipman
Walter ‘The Sniper’ Gahadzha Vs. DanVinni (Welterweight Bout)
After a loss the measure of a fighter is how they bounce back. Both Gahadza and Vinni are out to win at any cost after both coming up short in their previous contests. Both fighters are out to set the record straight and bounce back into contention in the BAMMA Welterweight division on September 15th. Both Vinni and Gahadza will be out to silence the critics with a performance that will remind everyone just how devastating they are.
“Everyone out there trying to be the next Conor McGregor. I’m just trying to be the next killer. Playtime is now over. Its time to kill..” – Walter ‘The Sniper’ Gahadza
“September 15th sees me return to action on BAMMA after my last fight on Bellator. This time I’m facing Walter Gahadza. Walter is on a two fight skid after seemingly quitting in his fights against Jones and Brazier. Walter is a hard hitter, but that’s all he’s got. He’s pretty basic in his style. I hear he’s a BJJ brown belt, I am too, so I wonder if he’s got the balls to go to ground with me and show his skills? I doubt it. This will go one way. Walter will come out at 100mph. I’ll soak up the pressure, I’ll see the fire go from his eyes and then I’ll finish him. Easy pay day.
As for me, I loved fighting on the main card of Bellator. I didn’t do myself justice the last time. Expect to see me pick up a couple of wins on BAMMA, then show Bellator the real Dan Vinni.
It’s my time now.” – Dan Vinni
Additional Notes
Yannick ‘The Black Mamba’ Bahati (8-2) The dual promotion Middleweight Champion makes his first title defence at BAMMA London against Mike Shipman. With a sharp boxing style and excellent submission skills, Bahati won the BAMMA Middleweight Title with a victory over Matt Hallam at BAMMA 29: McDermott Vs. Wolf via way of Submission (RNC) in the second round. Bahati made his BAMMA debut at BAMMA 11: Marshman Vs. Foupa-Pokam where he defeated Ben Constatine by way of Unanimous Decision.
Mike ‘Seabass’ Shipman (10-1) Shipman has been one of the UK’s most consistent fighters in the Middleweight division. Having not lost a fight since his debut against Aaron Brett in 2001, the ‘Sea Bass’ is currently riding a 10 fight win streak. Finally getting his shot at a title he will get the chance to show the world what they’ve been missing. Shipman holds wins over Craig ‘Thundercat’ White, Marcin ‘Mad Boy’ Prostko and Makunda Bunduku.
Walter ‘The Sniper’ Gahadza (16-2) is in search of his second victory in the promotion after missing out on winning the Lonsdale title against Terry ’The Dominator’ Brazier at BAMMA 29. His signature strength, grappling and dirty boxing, will be employed as he looks to make an example of Dan Edwards and put the BAMMA Welterweights on notice that he’s not gone anywhere.
Dan Vinni’ (15-16) will make his BAMMA debut at the SSE Arena, Wembley when he takes on Gahadza. The Team Skynet man has fought internationally and in his words has a record much more established than as it is recorded on Tapology and Sherdog. A complete fighter, Edwards is prepared to do battle anywhere on the ground or in the standup as evidenced in his loss to title contender Alex ‘Da Kid’ Lohore at Bellator London earlier this year. He feels his style will present Gahadza with a whole world of problems and is confident that he will be the third man to hand Gahadza a loss.
