Yasubey Enomoto to Challenge Shamil Zavurov on Showtime
By FCF Staff
M-1 Global has announced the main event for its next Showtime card, as Yasubey Enomoto will challenge the promotion’s lightweight champ Shamil Zavurov, December 9th. The card will be hosted by Costa Mesa, California’s O.C. Fair and Event Center.
Zavurov (18-1) hasn’t fought since July, when he earned a TKO win over Zhanybek Amatov, while competing on a Fight Nights card in Moscow, Russia. The accomplished Sambo competitor faced Enomoto earlier this year in April, and scored a unanimous decision win.
Since his aforementioned loss to Zavurov, which Enomoto reportedly took on eight days notice, the Sengoku vet has won two straight fights. In June, Enomoto worked his way to a majority decision win over Rafal Moks, and most recently in October, the Swiss fighter submitted Josh Thorpe with a first round, triangle-choke.
Some of the other bouts scheduled for the December 9th, M-1 Challenge XXX include Francisco Drinaldo (10-1) versus lightweight Alexander Sarnavsky (15-0), lightweight Jose Figueroa (10-5) versus Artiom Damkovsky (9-6) , middleweight Tyson Jeffries (7-6) versus Eddie Arizmendi (15-5) and featherweight Alessandro Ferriera (10-1) versus Bao Quach (18-10).
The card will be broadcast on Showtime beginning at 11:00PM ET /PT (delayed on the west coast).
