Yushin Okami is returning to the UFC, but he’ll do so, on one week’s notice.

The former middleweight contender has agreed to step in and replace “Shogun” Rua, who has withdrawn from a September 23rd bout with Ovince Saint Preux, due to injury. The match-up will headline UFC Fight Night 117, which is taking place at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan.

Okami (34-10) exited the UFC back in 2013, after he was stopped by “Jacare” Souza. Since then the Japanese fighter has gone 5-2, in a run that has seen Okami drop down to welterweight.

Most recently, Okami earned a decision win over Andre Lobato, at Professional Fighting League event in July.
