Conor McGregor has been hit with a huge fine, as the result of his highly publicized water bottle throwing incident prior to UFC 202.
On Monday, the Nevada State Athletic Commission announced McGregor has been fined 5% of the $3 million dollar purse he collected, for decisioning Nate Diaz on August 20th. That amounts to $150,000. At a pre-fight press conference, McGregor and Diaz’s team threw water bottles at one another, after the Stockton fighter decided to walk out.
McGregor has also been sentenced to 50 hours of community service for the incident, and the star will also have to participate in an anti-bullying campaign for the commission. The disciplinary action is being reported by multiple outlets.
Diaz’s hearing for the incident, meanwhile, has been pushed to a later date at his team’s request.
