Conor McGregor has been the driving force behind the UFC’s biggest pay-per-view cards to date, and the Irish star believes his next bout will set a new record for the promotion.

McGregor will take on lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205, which will take place on November 12th in New York City. The card will also feature several other pivotal fights, including welterweight champ Tyron Woodley taking on Stephen Thompson and strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk versu Karolina Kowalkiewicz.

Recently the featherweight champ was asked to weigh-in on what UFC 205 will generate, in terms of PPV buys, and McGregor stated (quote via MMA Junkie.com):

“I’m almost certain we’re talking the 2-million mark,” McGregor said. “I feel it will break the 2-million mark. That’s what I’d like, and then go from there.”

UFC 196 and UFC 202, which featured McGregor taking on Nate Diaz, are believed to have sold 1.6 and 1.65 million PPVs respectively.  The cards set new records for the UFC in PPV sales.
