After months of discussion and speculation, the UFC has finally announced an official date for a fight between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler.

The decorated fighters were expected to battle in 2023, following their roles as opposing coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter”. On Saturday, UFC President Dana White announced that McGregor and Chandler will square off in the headliner for UFC 303, which is taking place on June 29th in Las Vegas.

McGregor had previously reported the bout would take place on June 29th; however, no confirmation was provided by the promotion until this past weekend.

The 35-year-old McGregor (22-6) hasn’t fought since June, 2021, when he broke his leg in a rubber match with Dustin Poirier.

Chandler (23-8), who is 37, last competed in November, 2022, when he was submitted by Dustin Poirier.
