A recent tweet from Conor McGregor left many people speculating he was willing to fight rising welterweight Khamzat Chimaev.

But, due to a new tweet the former UFC champ has shared out, the combat sports world is speculating about whether a boxing match with Manny Pacquiao is being discussed.

Following a callout from Chimaev, McGregor tweeted out “I accept”. But, after UFC President Dana White and others concluded McGregor was responding to the Chechen-Swedish fighter, the Irish star told ESPN’s Ariel Helwani he wasn’t.

Since then, McGregor has also tweeted out “tinatanggap ko”, which in Filipino, means “I accept”.

Pacquiao is Filipino and the boxing legend has also expressed an interest in fighting McGregor before. The boxer also recently signed with McGregor’s management team, Paradigm Sports Management.

McGregor announced he was retiring from fighting in June. At the time, the decorated fighter said he wasn’t excited about the current state of MMA, and he also expressed frustration about the fact his next bout hadn’t been booked.

Since McGregor was stopped by Floyd Mayweather Jr. in their 2017 boxing match, he has repeatedly said he wants to box again.
