Dana White is “Hoping” Conor McGregor – Michael Chandler Gets Booked in The Fall
By FCF Staff
Both Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler have publicly declared they want to fight sooner than later, but it looks like the long-discussed bout will not take place this summer.
Since the two were announced as opposing coaches for “The Ultimate Fighter” at the beginning of 2023, there’s been extensive speculation regarding if and when the fight will happen. In January, McGregor claimed the fight was set for June 29th. But more recently, the former champ campaigned to compete at the April 13th, UFC 300 card.
UFC President Dana White recently appeared on The Pat McAfee show. When he was asked about a date for McGregor’s next fight, White reported he’s “hoping” to book the fight for this fall.
McGregor (22-6) hasn’t fought now since July, 2021, when he broke his leg in a rubber match with Dustin Poirier. Chandler (23-8), meanwhile, hasn’t competed since November, 2022, when he was submitted by Dustin Poirier.
