After it was initially reported that Glover Teixeira would have to undergo shoulder surgery, following his loss to Jon Jones at UFC 172, it looks as though that’s not the case.

The light-heavyweight contender, who lost via unanimous decision to Jones last month, reported the news via Twitter.

Great news today from Doc…no surgery needed on my shoulder right now. Thank u everyone for the support!!

Teixeira injured his shoulder in the opening round of his bout with Jones, after the champion cranked on his right arm.

Prior to the loss the Brazilian fighter had won 20 straight fights.
