Jon Jones Returns Fire at Alexander Gustafsson After Latter Comments on Champ’s Cut
By FCF Staff
Daniel Cormier told Jon Jones that posting pictures of a cut he’s incurred in training wasn’t wise, and now fellow contender Alexander Gustafsson has also weighed in.
Gustafsson, who was scheduled to rematch Jones on September 27th until he injured his knee, recently posted the following comment on Instagram:
@jonnybones, really sorry for the deep cut I gave you in our last fight. At least you will have a memory from me every time someone opens it up for you. To not make your other eye jealous for not having a cut, I promise to leave a memory on that one as well next time we fight. Now, take care
The light-heavyweight champ, who has said the cut is not from a previous scar, responded to “The Mauler” by tweeting:
Yes Alex you cut me but you didn't win the fight. Focus on things you can control like recovery. You had your chance pic.twitter.com/8OLBVmCtVz
