Jon Jones Says if Ronda Rousey’s Getting Immediate Rematch, so Should Jose Aldo
By FCF Staff
Following Conor McGregor’s stunningly quick knockout of Jose Aldo on Saturday, there didn’t seem to be much talk from the UFC or the new champ about grating the latter a rematch. According to Jon Jones, however, the promotion should apply that same thinking it is to Ronda Rousey’s situation.
Aldo was stopped in just 13 seconds at UFC 194, and while the featherweight star argued their should be a rematch, it looks like the UFC’s looking in another direction. McGregor has said he wants to fight for the lightweight title next, and UFC President Dana White has said either that, or a bout with #1 contender Frankie Edgar is in the cards.
Well, recently Jones made the following comment on Twitter:
Rousey was knocked out by Holly Holm in November, and White has said they hope to book an immediate rematch between the two for July. Prior to Aldo’s loss this weekend, the featherweight had defended the title nine times while competing for the WEC and UFC.
Jones, meanwhile, is expected to fight light-heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier in early 2016.
