Jon Jones has been suspended from training at the renowned, Jackson-Wink MMA, following his arrest last month.

The UFC’s former light heavyweight champ was arrested in Las Vegas on September 24th and charged with misdemeanor battery domestic violence. The arrest came just hours after Jones was elected into the UFC’s Hall of Fame for his epic, 2013 bout with Alexander Gustafsson.

More recently, Jones’ longtime coach, Mike Winkeljohn, informed MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani that he’s suspended the controversial star from training at the Albuquerque gym. Winkeljohn reported that Jones will be allowed to train at the gym, sometime in the future, if Jones quits drinking alcohol.

A follow-up report from ESPN included the following statement from Jackson Wink MMA spokesperson James Hallinan.

“Jon Jones has been temporarily suspended from training with the Jackson Wink Academy team,” Hallinan’s statement read. “Coach Jackson and Coach Gibson will continue to train with Jon offsite as long as he keeps his commitment to a healthy and positive lifestyle.”

The 34-year-old Jones, who has been arrested several times in his career, vacated the light heavyweight title last year with the intention of making a title run at heavyweight.
