Pat Miletich Reports Matt Hughes is no Longer in Coma
By FCF Staff
The longtime coach and friend of Matt Hughes, Pat Miletich, is reporting that the legendary fighter is no longer in a coma, after he was seriously injured in an accident earlier this summer.
Hughes was airlifted for emergency, medical treatment in June, after the truck he was driving was hit by a train. Recently Miletich was a guest on “The MMA Hour”, and the renowned coach reported the following regarding Hughes (quote via MMA Fighting):
“He is surprising the doctors,” Miletich said. “He’s making great leaps and he’s no longer in a coma, and he’s improving. It’s going to be a long road. Any type of head trauma at that level, there’s going to be some rehab.”
Earlier this month, Hughes family reported on Facebook that the UFC Hall of Famer was showing “small signs of improvement”.
