Following reports that Alistair Overeem and Mark Hunt have verbally agreed to fight on March 4th, the latter’s relayed why he has yet to sign a contract for the bout.

The heavyweight fight has been proposed for UFC 209, which will take place on the aforementioned date in Las Vegas. Recently Hunt told his own site, Mark Hunt.tv that he’s interested in fighting Overeem, but only if a PED clause is enacted:

“My clause will protect me in this instance and take the financial gain of the opponent of caught cheating, ” Hunt said.

“…I will not fight without this clause.  I’ve already fought three dopers in a row and I’m not going to fight again without security. All I want is a fair go and an even playing field.”

Hunt is coming off a decision loss to Brock Lesnar in July, but the result was overturned, after Lesnar tested positive for a banned substance. Since then Hunt has called on the UFC to give him Lesnar’s purse for the bout.
