Dillon Danis doesn’t have his first Bellator fight booked, but the grappling ace is turning heads, following claims he’s made about the terms of his new contract.

Recently it was reported that Danis has signed with the Viacom owned promotion. Danis is a BJJ black belt, and renowned grappling competitor, who is also a training partner of Conor McGregor.

Danis was a guest on the latest “MMA Hour“, and when asked for specifics of his Bellator deal, he reported that the contract is for four fights. Danis, however, also reportedly said the following (quote via MMA Fighting):

“We talked to the UFC, for them it’s just hard to sign anyone who doesn’t have any fights,” Danis said. “We were negotiating but Bellator came with money from the beginning. In the future, we’ll see what happens, but it was right this time with Bellator, the money was right, everything was right and they needed a star, you know?”

““I’m the highest-paid guy in Bellator now, so that’s all I can say.”

The 23 year-old also reported that he is not going to make his Bellator debut until after the ADCC competition this September.
