Renato “Moicano” Says For Him, Fight to do is Max Holloway vs. Alexander Volkanovski

Renato “Moicano” is excited to see Frankie Edgar fight for the UFC’s featherweight title at UFC 240. But, the 145 contender clearly believes that Alexander Volkanovski has earned a title shot.
After Volkaovski defeated the legendary Jose Aldo last month, which was his 7th straight win since joining the UFC, it was announced Edgar will challenge the champ Holloway on July 27th. Recently “Moicano” spoke with Bloody Elbow, and while discussing the situation, he said this:
“I think Max and Volkanovski makes more sense, because Volkanovski is coming off a big win,” “Moicano” said. “He beat Chad Mendes; Mendes was a great contender. And Jose Aldo is a legend. So for me, the fight to do is Max and Volkanovski.”
“I know Frankie Edgar has a lot of history for the UFC,” Moicano said. “He was champion at lightweight. He has a huge fanbase. Everybody loves him; he is a great guy. For me, he is starting to think about retiring…
“I saw him talking about something like, ‘UFC has to give me this title shot, because I did so much for the company.’ It’s like a reward to Frankie. I agree with that too, because Frankie Edgar is a great former champion. And it’ll be a great fight.”
“Moicano” (13-2-1), meanwhile, is booked to fight Chan Sung Jung on June 22nd at UFC Greenville.
