After going into a coma, as a result of complications incurred from surgery, former UFC fighter Angela Magana is reportedly responsive and talking.

Recently Magana underwent emergency surgery to address cauda equina syndrome . The fighter reacted negatively to the anesthesia, however, and lapsed into a coma.

Well, on Thursday, Magana’s coach Gabriel Lamastus told MMA Junkie the following:

“Angela is responding to the treatment and is waking up!!!,” Lamastus said. “We are over joyed (sic). She has been in and out of it.”

“This started happening this morning.” Lamastus also reported that Magana has been talking as well.

The 35-year-old Magana was initially scheduled to fight Kyra Batara at Combate 35 on April 26.
