Report: Dana White Says Vitor Belfort “Has a Lot of Work to do” Before Booking Another Fight

Recently Vitor Belfort relayed that he’s ready to return to action and wants to get rebooked for a bout with middleweight champ Chris Weidman, but Dana White says the vet’s call out is premature.

Belfort withdrew from a May 24th, UFC 173 fight with Weidman, after the Nevada State Athletic Commission banned testosterone replacement therapy. Now that Belfort has ended his TRT use, and the Chris Weidman-Lyoto Machida has been pushed to July 5th, “The Phenom” believes he should be fighting for the title next.

Well, according to a report from MMA Fighting.com, here is what White had to say about Belfort’s request following UFC 172:

“He’s gotta solve his problems with the Nevada State Athletic Commission and when he does that, we’ll figure it out.”

“He’s got a lot of work to do. That sh-t just doesn’t happen like that,” the UFC President furthered. “You gotta get on the agenda. He’s got a lot of work to do. He’s fooling himself if that’s what he really thinks, he took a couple of home tests and he’s ready to roll. Or whatever he did.”

Belfort locked up a title shot in November by stopping Dan Henderson in the opening round.
