Report: Dana White Says Vitor Belfort’s Licensing Issues in Nevada is his “Problem”

Belfort

By FCF Staff

It wasn’t that long ago, when Vitor Belfort was scheduled to face middleweight champ Chris Weidman tonight at UFC 173. The Nevada State Athletic Commission eventually banned the use of testosterone-replacement-therapy in the region, however, and Belfort had to withdraw.

While it isn’t clear when the former TRT user will return to action, UFC President Dana White had this to say recently about Belfort’s licensing issues in Nevada (quote via MMA Junkie.com):

“The handling of the Nevada State Athletic Commission is Vitor’s problem,” White said. “It’s not my problem. I’ll hear from Vitor when he’s got it all taken care of.

“Whenever he’s ready,” White added later. “I don’t know; I don’t care. Vitor’s going to have to handle that stuff. When he’s ready to come back, he’ll get Nevada situated. You guys were more concerned when Vitor was on TRT, and now Vitor is not on TRT and you guys are all, ‘Where’s Vitor?’

Belfort has argued that it should be him, and not Lyoto Machida, who should battle Weidman next. The latter two are scheduled to fight July 5th at UFC 175.
