More information has come out which indicates that as expected, the August 26th bout between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor was a massive success.

Recently UFC President Dana White claimed that the fight sold 6.5 million, pay-per-view buys. White didn’t confirm, however, whether he was referring to domestic or international numbers.

According to a new report from the L.A. Times, Showtime executive vice president Stephen Espinoza is saying that Mayweather – McGregor is “tracking in the mid-to-high 4 million pay-per view buys.” Espionza also added that if the bout doesn’t set a new record, it will be very “close”.

The 2015 bout between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao set the domestic PPV record at 4.6 million buys.

Mayweather stopped McGregor in the tenth round of their bout, which took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
