Report: John Lineker Released by UFC
By FCF Staff
After a 16 fight run with the UFC, which dates back to 2012, John Lineker has reportedly been released by the organization.
The Brazilian bantamweight made headlines recently after publicly calling on the UFC to give him a fight. The feared slugger was booked as a replacement opponent for Rob Font at UFC Greenville last month. Lineker, however, withdrew from the fight a few days out, after allegedly incurring a facial cut.
According to a new report from MMA Junkie, a source close to the situation says that Lineker (31-9) has been released by the UFC. Lineker’s camp reportedly declined to comment on the situation.
Most recently the 29-year-old lost by split decision to Cory Sandhagen in April.
