Report: TUF 16 Finalist Mike Ricci Dropped by UFC

Mike Ricci

Not long after news has surfaced that the UFC has released the promotion’s #6 middleweight Yushin Okami, word has come that TUF 16 Finalist Mike Ricci has also reportedly been let go. The 27 year-old lightweight is coming off a split decision loss to Myles Jury at UFC 165, which left Ricci’s official UFC record at 1-2.

Ricci advanced to the TUF 16 Finals last December and fell by unanimous decision to welterweight Colton Smith. In March, the Tri Star fighter returned to lightweight and scored a UD win over Colin Fletcher at UFC 158, before facing Jury.

Ricci also picked up “Knockout of the Season” honors during TUF 16 for his stoppage win over Neil Magny.

Yahoo.com was the first to report Ricci’s release. “The Martian” exits the promotion with an overall record of 8-4.
